The word “Chao Sua” in Chinese means “wealthy man/millionaire”. According to the history of the temple recorded that this coin was created in the year 2477 B.E. during the commemoration of Luang Pu Bun’s 7th anniversary. It was intended as a souvenir distributed to a substantial number of donors, particularly those who contributed significantly to the temple’s construction and renovation. However, it was not distributed to all attendees, focusing on those who were wealthier or contributed substantial funds. The coin were called “Chao Sua” from that time.
